I have just finished production of a brand new track (Move to the Beat 2003) and am now in the process of getting reactions from main players in the UKG scene. In 1994 me and my brother released a white label track called 'Move to the beat' under the guise of Alex Lee & Nicky Noo. It was only our second record release, but it sold well, and was played by many DJ's in the scene as well a being heard on Radio 1 and Kiss 100. Since then the tune has becone an underground classic, especially where there is a strong bassline garage scene, and I have been steadily selling my left over copies to DJ's who have found me via my website. In Birmingham, it's been reported that DJ's black out the name of the track on the label, and scratch off the catalouge number to keep the identity of the record a secret!! With my back copies all sold, I've had many requests to re-release it but just haven't got round to getting it sorted out. Then, in January 2002 I joined Force 106.5 FM, holding down a regular show every saturday ('scratch nice show' 5 - 6:30 pm). Of course, I started to play the track on my sets, and once again, the response was fantastic... so good in fact that it's kick started me to get in the studio to re-master the original and produce a wicked four to the floor garage remix... Whats next? We're ready to release 'move to the beat', with the brand new 2003 remix on the A-side, and the re-mastered original on the flip side. We've started hyping the track already... I've had dub-plates cut for EZ, Dreem Teem, Street Boy and the Force FM DJ's, and have posted a 2 minute sample on my website and many garage forums on the internet.
