U God

U-God is perhaps not the most well know member of the group and did not release a solo joint as early as some others. This could be part of the reason that he never got quite the same recognition and reputation as other members. However he did finally release a solo effort in 1999, "Golden Arms Redemption". This album did not make a killing in sales and received mixed reviews generally.
U-God placed the blame for the poor quality of his album on RZA's production. This seems unjustified on the one hand, since we all know the quality of RZA's work previously, though considering the recent issues within the camp he may have been the first to voice such complaints but he was evidently not the last. It should be noted however that U-God wasn't so much questioning RZA's ability so much as he was questioning his commitment to certain members of the clan. This all appears to have been sorted out, with RZA pretty much cutting all the BS short with a few eloquent statements to the media.
The solo work U-God has done has not set the world on fire, infact some would label him the weakest member of the group. However, even though some of the music was not the greatest, he has shown signs of promise and we are still waiting for the real U-God to stand up.
