Raekwon Biography and Information
Raekwon
Raekwon AKA The Chef, (real name Corey Woods), may not have made such a impact commercially, as his fellow members ODB and Method Man but he was defiantly highly rated by true hip hop fans.
Nicknamed "The Chef" as he is'always cooking up some marvelous shit to get your mouth watering', his solo work and his work on Wu-Tang tracks earned him a reputation for being one of the more hardcore and "real" members of the group.
Raekwon joined Wu-Tang in the early 90''s and played an important part in their first Album "Enter The Wu-Tang - 36 chambers". After the success of the album Raekwon did his solo bit. First releasing a track "heaven and Hell" and then his own album "Only Built for Cuban Links". Neither of these sold in quite the same way as fellow Wu-Tang member Method Man, though his work was very much respected by the hip hop community and recieved critical acclaim from true fans.
Both RZA and Ghostface Killa had a lot of involvement in this album and the combination seemed to be just right, the work was highly regarded within the Hip Hop world.
Then it was back to the team to record "Wu Tang Forever" in 1997.
Then another solo project, Rae released his second album "Immobilarity" in 1999, though this time he had switched label and was working with Epic. This album did not receive the same kind of recognition that his earlier work did, though it is notable that neither RZA nor Ghostface featured in the work.
Rae was involved in the subsequent Wu Tang albums and is set to record a new album with Ghostface.
