Gza

Born Gary Grice on August 22, 1966 in Staten Island NY. He grew up around this area and various other New York boroughs. It was while living in another area (The Bronx) that GZA got a taste for Hip Hop, he then bought what he had learned back to Staten Island and his cousins ODB and RZA.
This was probably where it all started.....
Genius originally released a solo album in 1991 on Cold Chillin titled "Words From the Genius". Just prior to this he dropped a single "Come Do Me". neither release was successful.
After this failure GZA decided to take a different route and teamed up with an old friend/cousin ODB to form the crew that would eventually make up the core of the WU-Tang Clan.
GZA, while not being the most commercially successful member of the group, (those honours went to Method Man and ODB ) was widely regarded within the Hip Hop community to be the best Lyricist in the group.
